‘It Was Important That I Defend Faith’: Pence Responds to Behar in Hannity Exclusive
Vice President Mike Pence said he has forgiven ABC’s Joy Behar for disparaging remarks she made about him and his Christian faith.
Behar said “hearing voices” is a sign of “mental illness” when told how Pence hears from God.
Pence said he understands that he will be criticized for things simply because he is in public life.
But, he said he had to stand firm against Behar’s remarks to defend the faith of millions of Americans.
He called Behar’s remarks “slander” but said he forgave the “View” host, who called him to personally apologize.
“She called me. She was very sincere, and she apologized and one of the things my faith teaches me is grace; forgive as you’ve been forgiven,” Pence said.
Tune in Monday at 9 PM ET for the full interview, wherein Pence also discusses President Trump’s planned meeting with the North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and the actions of the Oakland, Calif. mayor regarding illegal immigration.
