Judge Jeanine Applauds McCabe’s Firing: He ‘Should Have Been Taken Out in Cuffs’
In her Opening Statement, Judge Jeanine Pirro likened the firing of Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe to a “classic crime family take-down.”
Pirro said the next question to arise in the situation surrounding allegedly unethical or illegal behavior by members of the bureau is “who’s going to rat against whom?”.
“If this were the movie “The Godfather,” ‘Cardinal’ [Jim] Comey is the capo di tutti. Andrew McCabe is the enforcer, Lisa Page is both the consigliere and the gumade and Peter Strzok is a button man,” she said.
McCabe, she said, is accused of lying under oath in the federal Trump-Russia probe, and was fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions just hours prior to his planned retirement.
Critics of the move said the White House is angry at McCabe and trying to affect his expected seven-figure pension.
Pirro said McCabe is claiming “victim status” and “seeking to join that elusive hood of crooks who feign innocence when they are caught.”
“You should have been fired a long time ago. You should lose your law license and you should have been taken out in cuffs,” she said.
She also noted how criticism arose surrounding McCabe after a report revealed his wife received nearly $700,000 from Clinton confidant and former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) for a local political campaign.
Jill McCabe (D) ended up losing that 2015 state senate race to Sen. Dick Black (R-Purcellville).
McCabe responded to his firing in a statement saying that “This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally.”
